Mathakaragola, A renowned village of Bhuban Block in Kamakhyanagar sub division of Dhenkanal district in the state of Odisha maintains a rich cultural heritage and spiritual tradition. In the field of politics it has played a pivotal roll both in district and state level. In spite of his large area and vast population, it had no institution of higher learning until 1986. By the sincere efforts of some enthusiastic noble souls of this area the long cherished dream of the people blossomed into reality by the decision for establishment of this college in the eve of PRATHAMASTAMI on 25th November 1986. Sri Ghanashyam Dash, Late Dr. Radhanath Mishra (Ex Principal, VSS Medical College, Burla) and Sri Krupasagar Sahoo, IRTS did the spade work of the College. Late Kanhu Charan Nayak, Late Dhusasan Parida, Late Digambar Nayak, Sri Batakrishna Parida, Sri Prasanna Kumar Panigrahi, Sri Harihar Singh, Sri Gangadhar Sahoo, Late Shiba Charan Sahoo, Late Krushna Mohan Mishra and Late Dasarathi Nayak played active roles in giving a real shape to the concept of a college at Mathakaragola. Late Sridhar Parida, Sri Natabara Sahoo, Late Rajakishore Parida and many others worked hard for the growth of the college.
